“Do Relationship Patterns Echo in the Workplace?”

A colleague once told me, “I don’t fight with my wife… I just stay quiet.”
Funny thing? He does the same thing in meetings.
Stays silent. Nods along. And later feels frustrated.
That’s the thing about patterns. They don’t stay at home. They travel with us.
If you avoid tough conversations at home, you probably avoid feedback at work.
If you argue to “win” at home, you may do the same with your team.
And if you listen with patience at home, chances are you listen well at work too.
We think we have two selves — the personal one and the professional one. But it’s the same brain. The same habits. The same nervous system.
This week, just notice. How you talk, listen, or avoid in one space often echoes in the other.
Here are 3 quick reflections you can try:
1️⃣ When was the last time, I avoided a tough talk at home or work?
2️⃣ Do I listen to understand, or to reply fast?
3️⃣ What reaction of mine feels “on repeat” in both spaces?
✨ When you change one pattern in relationships, you naturally upgrade the other.
